The window in this picture seems to be without a sign so you’ll just have to trust me.

I couldn’t help but wonder where they were headed, though I think there are a number of places in the Midwest that could use a few good trailers right about now.

catching up

Oh, July, I didn’t see you there.  Please come in.

I apologize for my neglect, I was just reflecting on the awesomeness that was the month of June.

First there was Johnaroo, with sausage and waterslides river rapids and bacon and Stu and sausages wrapped in bacon.  It is an event that, in some ways, is too big for words.

Then there was Boston.  The trip was work related, but there was still time for visiting and wandering and playing with the SleepNumber beds.  There was also a new friend, briefly, and it is amazing the kind of things a complete stranger will share with you if you are willing to listen.

After Boston was New York, again for work, and again there were old friends and new, spending time together eating pizza and sipping lemoncello much too late into a weekday night.  There was also the adventure at the hotel, sharing bathrooms with travelers from afar and a unique set of residents.

Baltimore was closer to home and we spent the day eating crabs and exploring.  We visited a quiet little ice cream shop filled with treats from years gone by and watched the daring young women on the flying trapeze.

We explored our own city too, showing it off to a ong unseen visitor who patiently let us walk her around the city.  Here’s hoping its not fifteen years before we see each other again.

Venturing outside the beltway was also a treat as we stumbled upon an independent cinema with cheap tubs of popcorn as big as your head and free refills brought right to your seat.

But by far the most exciting thing that happened in June was an outing to see The Casettes that resulted in the theremin player dedicating a song to “The girl in the ‘I Heart Theremin Players’ t-shirt.”  Yeah, thanks to Dweebcentric, that was me.

So July, I’m sorry.  Let me turn my full attention your way as I am sure your promises of civil war dinosaurs and miniature Graceland won’t disappoint.
