gifts of christmas past

My Christmas gifts were genuinely fabulous this year.  No diamonds and pearls, just random little things that make me happy.

Let me share my happiness with you:
(move your mouse over a picture to see the description – but apparently only if you use IE)

This lovely calendar was a gift from my brother. He did all of his Christmas shopping in one hour and the whole family got calendars for Christmas.Getting books for Christmas is the best. I finished Atonement rather quickly so that I could also rush out to see the film. Two thumbs up for both works though each had a very different feel.I now own seasons 1 - 5 of X-Files. Russell likes to watch them too so these were my gift from him. Remington Steele came from my Mom. I had forgotten how awesome 80s television really was. This was a gift from the big family exchange. We tried a white elephant exchange this year but no one brought a video Ipod or a foot bath. But I plan on enjoying the hot chocolate and the blanket just as soon as it gets cold again. All I really wanted for Christmas was tennis balls. That's the truth.Only my Mom is allowed to buy me clothes. The white long sleeved wicking shirt is for use during my first-ever ski trip in February. From Grandma and Grandpa. From Grandma. She says the bears, who cuddle as a result of magnets in their cheeks, represent Russell and I. Only one of us has that much fur. This one is also on my desk at work. It has brilliant little sayings collected from church signs everywhere, such as GODISNOWHERE (now look again).I needed more blog fodder for 2008 and I think this is going to make for some pretty interesting posts. I'm currently trying to cross off all of things I've already done and then get busy on the rest. There is so much left to do.From Steph's roommate for no reason except that he thought it was cool. From Steph, to help me prepare for the concert we'll be attending this spring. Also for the concert...or for work.

Not pictured, only because we’ve eaten almost everything, are my Guatemalan gifts from Traci: Fried corn snack, hot sauce, little coffee flavored donut cookies, a chocolate bar, hot chocolate and really cool scarf.  I didn’t actually eat the scarf so I’ll have to get a picture of that up soon.
