best sound design
May 25, 2007 · 1 Comment
Our film won the award for Best Sound Design at the “Best Of” showing last night.
Though we are terribly excited, the irony of the situation was not lost. We were disqualified from last year’s competition because the copy of the film we turned in inadvertantly had no sound. This is a huge step up.

48 Hours

If you don’t know what the 48 Hour Film Project is, you should really check it out. It is held in cities across the country (and a few international cities). Teams enter the competition and have 48 hours to write, film and edit a 7 minute short. It is exhausting and yet so much fun!
This year I was on a team competing in the DC festival. I unfortunately got called away and was not able to participate in all the filming, but from what I did see I can tell you that ours is going to be amazing. It is playing this Friday night at the AFI theather in Silver Spring.
I won’t give away the plot here, but I’ll post the link once the film goes up online. Anway, the picture speaks volumes.

Spring Creativity
May 3, 2007 · 2 Comments
Hey folks. I’ve been meaning to update my header for a while since it is spring. I haven’t taken too many of my own photos recently, so I checked to see what I could find under a Creative Commons License.
The header photo comes from a web site called DCNature.com, a showcase for wildlife phots captured in DC. The photo is titled “Flower near the Potomac” by Brian Gratwicke, taken on April 9, 2005 at the Tidal Basin.
The photo in this post comes from the same place. It’s title is “Rainbow,” also by Brian Gratwicke. It was taken in Fall 2006 in Dupont Circle.
